Spark of Brilliance, a program of the Self Help Alliance services, operated by the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington Branch, is a community-based mental health initiative that promotes healing, recovery and discovery through the expressive arts. Workshops are open to people living with mental health issues and/or addictions and their supportive allies, including: family members, friends, mental health workers, etc.
Services we provide include:
- Creative, art-based workshops for individuals with a lived experience of mental health issues and/or addictions and their supportive allies, including: family members, friends, mental health workers, etc.
- One-on-one meetings with individuals with a lived experience of a mental health and/or addictions issue and family members to share their particular creative interests and gather new ideas for workshops and programs.
- Meetings with supportive groups, family groups, agencies, hospitals, etc., to share information about Spark of Brilliance and to gather ideas for potential programming, collaborative art projects and partnerships.
- Our "Stand Up for Mental Health" comedy troupe is available to provide entertainment and mental health awareness for your fundraiser, conference or special event. For more information about hiring Stand Up for Mental Health, please contact David Granirer.
